Who can attend the course?
Due to the revised Building Regulations 2005, from April 2006, all installers wishing to certify their own work under Corgi legislation, (rarther than call the Local Authority Building Control) must hold a certificate in Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating. This course will help you to deliver your responsibilities under the Home Energy Conservation Act.

Where do I go to study the course?
The courses are run in our NIC/EIC training centre at Penhale Military Training Camp, Holywell Bay, Newquay, Cornwall, TR5 8PF. We will provide you with joining instructions including a map and directions.

What are the entry requirements?
For installers of heating and hot water systems that are required to ensure that installations comply with Building Regulation part L.

Course Objectives?
The objectives for this course are to create awareness and understanding of the need to adopt energy efficiency measures and to provide a practical framework to promote energy efficiency options to consumers. The course also ensures that holders of the qualification have knowledge and understanding of practical solutions to improve energy efficiency performance and to ensure that they have a detailed knowledge and understanding of Building Regulation L1 and other related constraints which support energy efficiency. Additional subject areas covered are the benefits of efficient heating and hot water systems, energy efficiency and the building regulations and the importance of heating and hot water controls. Finally, the course covers the commissioning and handover of heating and hot water systems. Our Energy Efficiency qualification is recognised by the Energy Saving Trust, CORGI and OFTEC.

Qualifications to be obtained:
NIC/EIC ENERGY EFFICIENCY.

What can I do after the course?
Installers will be able to certify their own work under Corgi legislation.

How long is the Course and will I need to bring anything?
The course takes 1 day. You are required to bring a pair of steel toe capped boots, 4 passport photos and a packed lunch. Tea and coffee are provided along with any course reading material.
