One area within the construction industry that will continue to grow over the coming years, particularly in Cornwall and Devon, is the green/environmental technology sector.

To gain access to this exciting 'green economy' individuals will need to gain additional renewable energy installation qualifications. These qualifications usually build upon the knowledge you will have gained within your specified trade. However, It is important to gain recognised courses that are transferable. That is why we are working closely with bodies such as the NICEIC to deliver bespoke environmental technology courses.

Trade Services have developed a unique renewable energy training programme that will allow an individual to attain an accredited renewable training qualification that incorporates an NVQ Level 2 and 2 relevant renewable technical certificates.

The renewable training programme will run over 3-6 months (depending on how quickly you gather the practical evidence for the NVQ) and and involves:

  • Registration for the Trade Services Renewable training programme at the Trade Services Trade Training Centre
  • Competency assessment and introduction to renewables and environmental technology
  • Enrollment onto a relevant renewable training course (2 days) which include the following:
    • Enrollment onto NVQ Level 2
    • On site assessment (OSAT) 4 visits to you at your place of work
    • Completion of NVQ
