If you are leaving the Royal Navy, Army, or Royal Airforce and want to retrain to become a skilled tradesman Trade Services
can help.
Run by ex-military and experienced trainers and assessors from the education sector, as well as experienced tradesman, our
courses are designed to get you employment within the construction industry.
Unlike most training companies, Trade Services has a Training Centre as well as a successful construction company that will
allow you to gain valuable experience ‘in-house’. When you enrol onto one of our courses you may not need to find an
external company to undertake the work experience elements of your course. Always ask one of our advisors for availability
of placements.
Resettlement Overview
Our courses will give students the opportunity to increase their knowledge in any given trade. Previous experience is not
necessary and we offer courses in plastering plumbing, bricklaying, tiling, electrical and carpentry. We will endeavor to
gear the courses to suit your requirements and can even run some of them over a weekend.
Our aim is to give the knowledge and training during our 4-week multiskilled course to undertake your own DIY or maintenance
projects. After this we are confident that you will have the correct knowledge to carry out DIY projects and general
property maintenance to a high standard. Ideal if you are renting out a second property as you will have the knowledge
and experience to improve or maintain it.
In addition, our courses will also give you an insight into the construction industry, allowing you to choose a trade that
is best suited to you.
If at the end of this course you find that you really enjoyed a specific trade we can extend the course and offer further
advanced training in the specialization of your choice.
Research states that by 2008 the U.K will be short of some 32,00 plumbers. With this in mind you might feel that you would
like to enroll on to our city and guilds 6129 course. The course is run over 6 weeks and is the first rung on the ladder
to becoming employed as a plumber. You will then be able to undertake the NVQ Level 2 with Trade Services. You will be
able to gain employment and you will be on route to becoming a gas engineer.
